DiamArt has spent years studying rigid planes and surfaces, but now they are breaking free from the constraints of traditional diamond applications. With their micro diamond fabric, they have created a flexible material that can be molded into various shapes while maintaining its resistance. This achievement is the result of extensive research in diamond technique applications and the use of special polymers.
The micro diamond fabric is a fabric covered with an expanse of micro-diamonds, creating a velvety and shiny effect. What sets DiamArt apart is the density of natural micro-diamonds on the fabric, with a verified density of 0.06ct/cm2 by the IGI – Istituto Gemmologico Italiano. The softness of the fabric enhances the beauty of the diamonds, allowing designers to bring new shapes and lights to their creations.
The creation of the micro diamond fabric involves a unique process. The surface composition consists of a mixture of diamond powders, man-made diamond crystals, and epoxy resin, resulting in a brilliant and elegant effect. Waterjet cutting technologies are used to shape the fabric, taking advantage of the hardness and strength of diamonds. The gems are embedded using a high-pressure process, ensuring their adhesion while maintaining their touchability.
The DiamArt micro diamond fabric is produced in sheets measuring 250 x 250 mm with a thickness of 1.75mm. Custom shapes can be created through waterjet cutting. The technical aspects of the fabric have been thoroughly analyzed by expert laboratories, providing assurance of its quality and durability.
The possibilities for the micro diamond fabric are endless. It can be used as decorative inserts or applied to various creations, from fashion accessories to furnishing elements. Its flexibility and sewability make it easy to incorporate into different fabrics and objects. DiamArt has truly created a material that combines luxury, flexibility, and durability.
The micro diamond fabric project started in April 2018 in Verona and will be officially presented in 2019 during the Brera Design Week in Milan. This innovative design has already received recognition, winning the Iron A' Design Award in the Textile, Fabric, Textures, Patterns, and Cloth Design category in 2019. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
DiamArt's micro diamond fabric is a testament to their commitment to pushing the boundaries of design and innovation. With this revolutionary material, designers can now create unique and luxurious pieces that incorporate the timeless beauty of diamonds.
